Remembering to be Thankful After a Rough Week

Sorry…you were probably hoping for the final instalment in my post series. I just couldn’t today. Tomorrow though. I promise.

For today I’m going to jump into ten things of thankful. I need to remember what wonderous things there are in this world.  Because after a rough week, one has to really take the time to remember all the things they have to be thankful for.

I am thankful that there are people in this world who try to be the light, no matter what is going on around them. Especially Lizzi (Considerings) and Elly (Buggin’ Word) who can always make me smile.

I am thankful that there are people in this world who are trying to keep people safe. Like the people who started and are participating in the safety pin campaign, and the people who are trying to bring Angela to America (and the ones who started it in England).

I am thankful for puppies. Because who doesn’t love puppies (even if it is Caturday).

I am thankful that I finally have made the time in my life to take care of me. I joined a gym last week and plan on going on my lunch hour twice a week for the next six months.

I am thankful that although I had to pull my child out of school (long story), I have access to care for my child, and was able to find a more appropriate placement for him starting next week.

I am also thankful that I have an understanding employer and was able to flex my workday while the situation with the previous school went in the shitter.

I am thankful that I get to celebrate this evening with some amazing friends for their fiftieth birthdays.

I am thankful (as ever) for an understanding and motivating husband who pushes me to pursue my dreams.

I am thankful for my family’s health and that we live in an area of the world where they can receive good health care.

I am thankful for you and that not only do I have the privilege of writing, that you find my writing worthy of reading.

(See you tomorrow for the final post in my series???)

Your puppy videos were amazing…you’re like the queen of animal videos now. All you need is a goat.

  1. Your post reminds me that I too need to give thanks for all those unspoken words and unconditional love of my parents.

      1. I agree. They are everything. They are the complete world for children.

It is a fantastic idea. I think it’s the little things that will get the country moving back into the right direction.

  2. Oh Sweetie that sounds like a REALLY tough week, and I so hope everything works out ok with the new school placement. What an awful situation to get to though 🙁 I hope your kid’s ok, and finding this a move filled with relief and hope.

*HUGE HUGS* to you, and WELL DONE for all the positive things you’re doing for yourself. That’s brilliant 🙂

  3. Good TToT post. Direct and to the point (which one might argue is the simple act of writing and sending, this being the virtual world’s version of gaining (and sharing) an insight).
Joining a gym is good for the structure if nothing else, time, in my experience, is the downfall of many of my best intentions, having an externally imposed schedule can be that one boost to allow new habits to establish.

  4. I’ve watched my share of puppies videos this week too. One just can’t see them and not smile.
A husband who pushes you to pursue your dreams is such a blessing too.
    Yeah for good health care.

  5. Yay for gratitude! It is what gets me through a crazy week too. Right now I’m super grateful that I can raise my California girl in the relative sanity of British Columbia.
