As I’ve been getting out and about a bit (you’ve seen me on Scary Mommy, MockMom, The Mid and Sammiches and Psych Meds this past month), I decided it was time to branch out and make this into something bigger. I spent this past weekend transferring over 200 blogs from Blogger to WordPress. Welcome to LiveBySurprise.com!
There may still be a few cosmetic changes over the next month as I make myself comfortable here – but overall I’m pretty happy with the result.

I originally chose Blogger because it was supposed to be no muss no fuss – and it definitely was. But I find the WordPress sites a lot cleaner – and I think the commenting system here is a lot better. Also – instead of having to muck around with HTML WordPress has widgets that do most of the work!

Exciting stuff indeed!! The site looks fabulous! I resisted switching from Blogger to WordPress for about two years… I’ve found there are so many user-friendly tools and ‘sparkly” things you can do with WP! LOL
YOU did an AMAZING JOB!! I gave up trying to figure out the whole transfer thing, bit the bullet and hired someone… You should be patting yourself on the back until it’s black and blue… Okay, so many not…that would hurt… Maybe eat a gallon of your favorite ice cream or do a happy dance naked in your front yard? 😉

Thanks Annah! I very nearly threw I the towel – the host talked me into switching because they said they could do 80% of the transfer…turns out they can do like 1%. It took ages to pull it all in – but I’m really pleased with the result – and despite some bugs I’m pretty happy with WordPress.
